Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an entry-level Environmental or Civil Engineering Intern to join our Water Services team in Edison, NJ. This internship offers hands-on experience across planning, design, and construction with mentorship from experienced professionals.

You will assist in researching engineering solutions, supporting analyses, and developing technical documents using ArcGIS, SWMM, CADD, and Excel, while learning from a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Internship/co-op experience in engineering is a plus but not required.
• Strong desire to learn and contribute to water/environmental projects.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and construction activities on water, wastewater, and environmental projects.
• Assist with technical reports, calculations, and project documentation.
• Develop maps, figures, presentations, and other project materials.
• Participate in fieldwork and construction management activities.
• Ideal candidate available to start May 17th, May 31st or June 14th 2027.
