Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, a leading environmental and land development firm, is seeking an Intern - Environmental in Chicago, IL. You will assist with environmental aspects of diverse projects, support field investigations, and gain exposure to feasibility studies, reporting, and design tasks.

The role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with environmental leadership, and opportunities to develop engineering and analytical skills on real-world sites across the U.S.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of GIS or environmentally related software, and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and recording data.
• Monitor construction projects by performing tests to verify contractor compliance with specifications.
• Identify solutions to field and/or laboratory problems and document results.
• Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
• Prepare logs and field forms (drilling logs, field dailies, chain of custody logs).
• Learn data management and modeling tools for environmental media and how to perform engineering analyses.
