Job summary

SLR Consulting, located in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our growing team. You will work on industrial wastewater treatment, water quality, permitting, and remediation projects across North America, combining field work, data analysis, and engineering design.

The position offers hands-on mentorship with senior engineers, opportunities to advance toward Professional Engineer licensure, and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering with environmental or wastewater focus.
• 1–3 years in consulting, industrial wastewater or environmental engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with wastewater treatment, water quality, permitting, and remediation projects.
• Analyze data, support engineering design, and prepare technical reports.
• Review regulations and permits for client operations.
• Assist with field investigations, sampling, and site assessments.
• Develop drawings and specifications with CAD tools.
• Support project planning, budgets, and client communication.
