The Alaska District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking an Interdisciplinary Supervisory professional in the Engineering Division, Environmental and Special Programs Branch, Environmental Engineering Section, located at Elmendorf AFB, AK.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About The Position

The Alaska District is seeking to fill an Interdisciplinary Supervisory position located in the Engineering Division, Environmental and Special Programs Branch, Environmental Engineering Section. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in contaminated site investigations and remediation; environmental compliance; cost estimating; contracting; leadership; and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Major Duties

• Serves as a first line supervisor of technical professionals including environmental engineers, scientists, and chemists.
• Supervises and directs the activities of technical staff. Provides leadership, guidance, priorities, and work distribution.
• Advises on training, section policies, and other administrative tasks. Reviews project budget estimates, project schedules, and multiple technical work products.
• Oversees the planning of multidisciplinary engineering activities, acquisitions and contracting actions.
• Participates in the selection, negotiation, management, and evaluation of Architect-Engineer contractor performance.
• Provides independent technical reviews of section deliverables for quality assurance/quality control.
• Serves as point of contact for project managers seeking technical resources, responds to technical issues on projects and facilitates resolution of project issues.
