Job summary

Ergon Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer to manage permitting, compliance, and project support for asphalt and emulsions facilities nationwide. You will partner with Operations, EHS, and regulatory agencies to ensure regulatory adherence while enabling capital projects.

The role requires independent work on routine matters, with travel 25–40% to support multiple facilities and regulatory interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of environmental engineering or compliance experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Experience supporting multiple facilities or a geographically dispersed footprint is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations affecting asphalt, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day environmental compliance for assigned facilities, including air, water, waste, and spill prevention programs.
  • Lead preparation, submittal, and management of environmental permit applications, renewals, and modifications.
  • Provide environmental support for capital projects, plant expansions, equipment installations, and process changes.
  • Collaborate with plant leadership, corporate teams, and regulatory agencies to mitigate environmental risk.
  • Maintain compliance calendars, records, and reporting; lead responses to audits and inspections.
