Job summary

Ergon, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer to manage environmental permitting, compliance, and project support for its asphalt and emulsions facilities nationwide.

You will partner with Operations and EHS teams to ensure facilities comply with federal, state, and local regulations while supporting capital projects. This role requires independent work on routine matters and collaboration with plant leadership, corporate teams, and regulatory agencies to mitigate environmental risk and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 3–6 years of environmental engineering or compliance experience.
• Experience across multiple facilities or dispersed footprint preferred.
• Strong knowledge of regulations affecting heavy industry and permitting.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day environmental compliance: air, water, waste, spill prevention.
• Lead permit applications, renewals, and modifications.
• Support environmental reviews for capital projects and process changes.
• Provide environmental guidance to plant leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor Environmental Engineer I staff and share knowledge.
