Location: Boise, ID or Pocatello, ID. The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company based in Boise, Idaho, involved in food processing, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, and more.

Summary

This role is part of the Corporate Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Department, focusing on environmental cleanup, remedial actions at fertilizer & pesticide distribution facilities, and environmental due diligence for property transactions. Travel is estimated at 30% annually, with possible residence at Boise or Pocatello offices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee multiple environmental remedial actions at retail fertilizer and pesticide facilities, addressing contaminants like nitrate, selenium, phosphorus, and pesticides.
2. Experience with CERCLA and state-specific environmental regulations is required, with a strong chemistry background preferred.
3. Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions/divestments, oversee Phase I & II assessments, and manage remedial actions resulting from these assessments.
4. Collaborate with team members, participate in environmental assessment programs, and provide technical support to facilities.

Education & Experience

• B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
• Minimum 4 years of industry experience, including project management with regulatory agencies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work professionally with various stakeholders.

Certifications & Additional Info

Certifications required are not specified; travel up to 25% is expected. The position is full-time, mid-senior level, in the Engineering and IT sector within Food and Beverage Manufacturing industries.
