Job summary

TRC Companies is seeking an Environmental Geologist or Environmental Engineer to join our Richmond, VA office. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of environmental projects in team support, including field and office activities, site assessments, and regulatory documentation.

Main duties include conducting soil and groundwater investigations, managing cleanup work, preparing technical reports, and supporting proposals and budgets. Travel and a PE/PG are valued assets for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, Geoscience or B.S. in Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• At least 10 years of hands-on related work experience preferred.
• Experience reviewing, compiling and interpreting geologic data to prepare site models.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and conduct environmental project activities in the field and office.
• Perform and supervise soil and groundwater site assessments.
• Manage soil and groundwater cleanup activities.
• Oversee QC and decontamination procedures during field work.
• Document closure of sites under state and federal regulations.
• Perform risk and exposure pathway assessments.
• Develop conceptual site models of subsurface conditions.
• Prepare technical reports, project specifications and manuals.
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and contracting documents.
• Manage project budgets and data management.
