Job summary

Frontier-Kemper Constructors, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Environmental Engineer for the Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, NY. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in EHS or Environmental Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in construction, including on-site work.

QEP credential and HAZWOPER certification are required. On-site, Monday–Friday, with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, OSH, Environmental Health & Safety, or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated EHS experience in construction environments, including extensive on-site field operations.
• Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP) credential recognized by NYS DEC.
• OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Experience with hazardous waste management; chemical and petroleum storage; spill prevention and response; remediation involving lead, PCBs, asbestos.
• Knowledge of stormwater management, soil management practices, and environmental permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental impact assessments and site evaluations related to civil construction projects.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans (EMPs) to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate environmental considerations into planning and execution.
• Monitor air, water, soil quality, and waste management on construction sites.
• Prepare environmental reports, documentation, and permit applications.
• Identify environmental risks and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Assist in environmental training for construction teams.
• Stay updated on environmental laws and best practices for civil construction.
• Support sustainability initiatives and green technologies in construction.
