Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
  • 3–6 years of environmental or engineering field experience including regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with environmental field sampling (soil, groundwater, air, stormwater, soil gas).
  • Experience conducting environmental compliance assessments and inspections.
  • Familiarity with air quality evaluations, vapor mitigation or remediation systems.
  • Knowledge of state environmental regulations (EGLE).
  • Strong technical writing for reports and submittals.
  • Data interpretation of environmental sampling results and analyses.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and communication.
  • Experience with environmental data platforms/GIS tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct soil, groundwater, stormwater, air, and soil gas sampling in the field, ensuring high-quality data collection and adherence to established protocols.
  • Perform environmental compliance inspections at residential, municipal, commercial, and industrial sites to evaluate adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support Phase I and Phase II investigations and related remediation and compliance activities.
  • Assist with permitting efforts by preparing and submitting regulatory applications and documentation to relevant agencies.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and defensible technical reports, including data interpretation, narrative summaries, and remediation recommendations.
  • Support design and implementation of vapor mitigation and remediation systems, including system layout and coordination with installation teams.
  • Oversee installation of environmental controls and remediation systems in the field, monitoring progress and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Support operation and maintenance of remediation and vapor mitigation systems to ensure performance.
  • Contribute to air quality evaluations and emissions analyses to support regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with project managers to plan tasks, manage schedules, and communicate status.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors during field activities, including scheduling and safety oversight.
  • Apply EGLE/state regulations to guide project decisions in sampling, reporting, and system design.
  • Use environmental data platforms/tools to organize, analyze, and present field and analytical data.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Make sound field decisions when conditions change, ensuring safety and compliance.
  • Contribute to delivering accurate, defensible results for housing development and municipal initiatives.
