Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Counce, TN is seeking an Environmental Co-Op/Intern. You will collect and analyze environmental samples, maintain lab equipment, and manage emissions data while supporting projects in wastewater treatment, landfill operations, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires an engineering major (Chemical, Civil, or Environmental) with freshman-year completed or in progress, a 3.0/4.0 GPA, and U.S. residency with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0 is required and must be a permanent U.S. resident with a valid driver's license.
• Must be majoring in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or related field and have completed freshman year or will have completed freshman year at time of co-op.
• Preferred: member of paper foundation at listed schools or enrolled at listed states for interview consideration.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and manage environmental samples including wastewater, stormwater, and other mill process areas.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and update or create SOPs as needed.
• Maintain and improve environmental records and documentation systems including daily emissions data and periodic compliance reports.
• Participate in environmental engineering projects related to wastewater treatment, landfill operations, residuals management, and regulatory compliance.
• Utilize environmental and production data systems to identify trends and improve compliance management processes.
• Collaborate with environmental engineers and mill personnel to help ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant mill operations.
• Additional duties as requested by management.
