Job summary

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's in Environmental Engineering with junior status by May 2027.
  • GPA 2.75 or higher.
  • Ability to work in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1–2 years of volunteer/work with student organizations or similar preferred.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work full-time while enrolled as a student.
  • Must pass post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • Support permitting projects with cross-functional teams, including consultants and legal counsel.
  • Combine environmental project management and field work (e.g., groundwater sampling, inspections, improvement projects).
  • Contribute to ESG-related project management and net-zero roadmap modeling.
  • Assist with annual and ad hoc reporting; collect data for insights.
  • Conduct environmental testing and sampling following regulatory procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and manage environmental field sampling data using electronic databases.
  • Communicate with management, operators, engineers, tradespeople and contractors.
  • Participate in department and project meetings.

Environmental Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Summer 2027

Where will you work: Bartow site located at 3200 US Hwy 60 W, Bartow, FL 33830 with travel to other Florida sites as need it. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

An Environmental Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic will be assigned routine environmental engineering-related duties while collaborating with the team on annual reporting and permitting submission. Term

May 11, 2027 to August 20, 2027

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hoursa week.

In person. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

What you’ll do:

  • Work cross-functionally within the organization to support the company’s ESG targets while reviewing all aspects related to permitting projects, including working with the various subject matter expert consultants, legal counsel, the preparation of permit applications, and on-site inspections and support of the operations staff.

  • A combination of environmental project management and engineering field work (e.g., groundwater sampling program, environmental inspections, environmental improvement projects, etc.)

  • Work on environmental, social and governance (ESG) related project management with a focus on our ESG targets, particularly the net zero roadmap modeling.

  • Contribute to annual and ad hoc reporting activities; help assess global best practices; and collaborate with internal stakeholders for the collection of data and insights.

  • Conducts facility environmental testing and sampling in accordance with strict regulatory and company procedures and permit drive schedules. This may include providing technical training to assist with on-going compliance which requires high attention to detail.

  • Troubleshoots and manages environmental field sampling data using electronic database.

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you’ll need:

  • Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Environmental Engineering.

  • 2.75 GPA or higher

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, orworkis preferred.

  • Previousinternship or co-op experience is preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates willbe requiredto successfully completepost-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
