Precision Talent Partners, LLC is partnering with a global leader in advanced materials to identify an Environmental Staff Engineer for environmental compliance and management systems across Southern Tier facilities.

The role blends strategy with hands-on execution, leading ISO 14001 initiatives, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with operations, regulators, and consultants to advance environmental performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental assessments to identify compliance risks, systemic gaps, and appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Serve as a technical expert for ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, supporting implementation, optimization, and long-term sustainability across facilities.
• Monitor evolving environmental regulations, industry standards, and requirements and determine their potential impact on operations.
• Interpret environmental regulations and permit requirements and advise facility and business leadership on compliance strategy and risk.
• Analyze environmental data and performance metrics to identify trends and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with operating facilities to establish and achieve annual and longer-term environmental performance goals.
• Lead and support environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, due diligence, and investigations.
• Interface with regulatory agencies as appropriate.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action planning following environmental incidents, nonconformances, and audit findings.
• Provide technical oversight for environmental remediation projects, including coordination with consultants and contractors.
• Develop and deliver environmental compliance training.
• Mentor junior environmental engineers and contribute to broader environmental policies, standards, and best practices.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related engineering discipline


• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) credential


• Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements


• Demonstrated experience leading environmental compliance initiatives and projects


• Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into practical actions for operating teams


• Strong analytical, communication, project leadership, and problem‑solving capabilities

Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively progressing toward PE licensure


• Approximately 5–10 years of experience within manufacturing, industrial operations, and/or environmental consulting


• Experience leading ISO 14001 systems, particularly across multiple facilities


• Experience interacting directly with environmental regulatory agencies


• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification


• Experience supporting environmental remediation, audits, investigations, and corrective‑action programs
