Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Progressive experience in environmental engineering, manufacturing, engineering, operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects or processes with limited supervision.
  • Proven experience with SOP development, revision, standardization, or redesign.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale projects and processes of complex scope with limited oversight from management.
  • Develop, manage, and implement projects within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with the development and execution of operational plans.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimization, and automation.
  • Conduct detailed analyses and use findings to develop recommendations that improve operational performance.
  • Review, revise, and holistically redesign standard operating procedures (SOPs) when necessary.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and operational efficiency.
  • Coach, mentor, review, and delegate work to junior-level professionals.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to achieve project and operational objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, compliance, and productivity.
  • Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Support organizational initiatives related to environmental performance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Environmental Engineer to lead complex projects and processes within a manufacturing environment. This position will work with limited management oversight and will be responsible for driving process improvements, identifying automation opportunities, redesigning standard operating procedures, and supporting operational planning.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and project leadership skills, the ability to develop innovative solutions, and experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. This role will also provide coaching and guidance to less experienced professionals.
