Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Engineer to contribute to remediation design and implementation within our Waste sector. You will engage in complex assignments, exercise judgment, and collaborate with clients to deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering, PE license, and at least 3 years of designing environmental projects. You will work in a culture that values inclusion and employee ownership, with opportunities to lead within

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related field.
  • Experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects.
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
  • Minimum 3 years experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex assignments with engineering judgment for environmental remediation projects.
  • Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed.
  • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed.
  • Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures for environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Manager on mid‑size projects as needed, but project management is not the sole focus of this position
  • Supervise a small staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
  • Previous experience designing and creating plans and specifications for environmental engineering projects, such as remediation design and implementation
  • Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (for example, Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license)
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of a task
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
