LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an innovative aerospace technology company seeking an experienced Environmental Testing Engineer to support the development and qualification of advanced flight hardware operating in challenging environments.
This role will lead environmental test campaigns from planning through execution, helping validate system performance, reliability, and safety across a range of operational conditions.
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental qualification, proto-qualification, and acceptance test campaigns
- Develop test plans, procedures, acceptance criteria, and test readiness reviews (TRRs)
- Execute and analyze thermal, altitude, vibration, EMI/EMC, humidity, and environmental test programs
- Translate system requirements into test objectives and verification plans
- Analyze test data and generate technical reports and recommendations
- Own environmental test equipment, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and supporting infrastructure
- Collaborate with systems, avionics, structures, and operations teams
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities for continuous improvement across testing programs
- Support qualification activities throughout the product development lifecycle
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of environmental testing experience supporting aerospace, defense, avionics, spacecraft, satellites, UAS, or other complex hardware systems
- Experience developing and executing environmental qualification programs
- Strong understanding of environmental test methodologies and industry standards
- Experience with environmental chambers, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test facilities
- Excellent analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace startup or high-growth technology environment
- MIL-STD-810, GEVS, NASA, DoD, or similar qualification standards
- Thermal, altitude, vibration, EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum (TVAC), or environmental stress testing
- High-altitude, flight hardware, spacecraft, satellite, or advanced aerospace systems
- FAA certification testing or regulatory compliance activities
