Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking an Environmental/Energy Manager to oversee compliance with the Environmental Management System (EMS), the Installation Energy Plan, and other sustainability requirements for NSA Annapolis under a DoD contract.

The role manages environmental, health, and safety policies, trains staff, coordinates with agencies, and ensures proper waste handling and energy/water reduction initiatives across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience with environmental procedures on Base Operations Support (BOS) services contracts or equivalent.
• Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental compliance and energy management for facility maintenance, utilities management, waste management, pest control, and pavement clearance.
• Ensure adherence to EMS, Installation Energy Plan, and sustainability requirements affecting contract performance.
• Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies, and programs to promote sustainable development.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for environmental and energy compliance across all contract activities.
• Conduct audits and assessments to identify improvement areas and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and energy policy.
