Brembo North America is seeking an Environmental and Energy Specialist to collect, analyze, and manage environmental and energy data across multiple sources, including emissions scopes, and to prepare clear visual reports.

You will support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, assist with ISO documentation, coordinate waste shipments, and promote energy efficiency through cross-functional projects in a Manufacturing setting.

Job description

The Environmental and Energy Specialist position is responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data from various sources for both environmental and energy areas, preparing visual representations, and conducting assessments and investigations to identify and address potential environmental hazards. Ensure compliance with regulations and standards by following established policies, assisting with ISO documentation, and managing waste shipments & related documentation. Additionally, the specialist communicates with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote energy efficiency, environmental objectives, and implement cost-effective solutions for environmental issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Environmental & Energy Data Management: Collect, validate, and organize environmental and energy data from multiple sources, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. Prepare charts, dashboards, and reports using Microsoft Office and internal systems. Manage the Management of Change processes affecting HSE. Maintain and update the b-sustainable platform, EMS tracker, SDS master tracker/apps, and utilizing other environmental tracking tools/dashboards. Support the collection and tracking of foundry-cleaning logs, including contracted and scheduled cleaning scope.

Environmental Compliance & Operational Controls: Perform Environmental PMs, conduct Aspect & Impact Assessments, and support incident investigations. Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Deliver New Hire E&E training and update training materials. Develop One-Point Lessons, issue purchase orders, and complete required certifications. Perform 5S audits and coordinate cleaning schedules and projects with internal teams and external contractors. Conduct post-project inspections to verify completion and quality. Serve as point of contact for scheduled environmental, energy, and cleaning projects.

Waste Operations, Equipment Support & Pollution Control: Coordinate projects related to pollution-abatement systems, perform silo measurements and meter readings as needed, and support monthly and annual reporting data for E&E compliance and operations. Provide confined-space and operational support for environmental, energy, cleaning, and other departmental projects as needed. Perform LOTO on equipment on environmental and collaboration projects as needed.

Energy Efficiency & Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with internal departments to follow up on energy-efficiency initiatives and perform energy calculations and analyses. Communicate environmental and energy targets, objectives, and emergency information to employees. Identify and recommend effective solutions for environmental challenges. Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and contractors on environmental, energy, and cleaning projects. Provide support for after-hours, weekend, and holiday project activities when required.

Sampling, Waste Shipments & Regulatory Documentation: Collect samples and follow proper chain-of-custody procedures. Schedule and manage waste shipments. Maintain and organize documentation including manifests, regulatory reports, laboratory results, and waste profiles.

Regulatory Compliance & Management System Support: Follow E2MS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Assist the E&E Manager with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 documentation and other assigned duties.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be able to perform written, verbal, and electronic (email, radio, teams) communication with colleagues, contractors, vendors, suppliers, consultants, and regulatory agency (as needed).

Must be able to receive and fulfill cleaning requests, waste disposal requests, and environmental testing requests as needed.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS

Fundamental Understanding of Environmental Concepts, Data Management, Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Interpersonal, Microsoft Office and willing to learn new tools.

HAZWOPER 40hr, DOT & RCRA Haz-waste Training required, Confined space (preferred)

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

~ Normal office environment

Physical Setting will be in shared workspace. Exposure to working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment (20-50% of time exposed to plant conditions) such as noise, odors, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Plant requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hard hat, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Spends 25% of time walking across campus and climbing stairs to perform inspections and attend meetings with other departments.
