Job description

Primary Purpose: Service customer accounts using the following responsibilities and functions.

Essential Functions and Requirements:

  • Ensure health & safety as the top priority by following policies and acting safely at all times.
  • Maintain regulatory understanding of generator requirements.
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding services, costs, and paperwork.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customers through routine communication.
  • Review, revise, and complete waste profile forms, including SDS review and RCRA Hazardous Waste Code selection; submit wastestream approval.
  • Develop basic chemical knowledge related to waste types and disposal options.
  • Use available tools to conduct research and collaborate cross-functionally to solve problems.
  • Coordinate with teams to assign workflow appropriately.
  • Follow up on approvals to ensure timely scheduling.
  • Review, print, and send quotes; obtain signed copies.
  • Submit samples with documentation for testing as needed.
  • Review billing for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain updated customer records.
  • Provide or develop innovative solutions.
  • Know when to escalate issues.
  • Increase revenue through inside sales in the assigned territory, working closely with sales teams.
  • Secure disposal outlets for waste, including approvals, pricing, and logistics.
  • Perform profit and cost analysis to optimize disposal methods and increase margins.
  • May service customers until 5:00 pm MT/PT.
  • Process waste orders and complete shipping paperwork.
  • Facilitate customer tours of Heritage facilities upon request.
  • Handle non-conforming waste issues promptly, including manifest discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Travel up to 10%, including yearly trips to territories.

Education: 4-year degree in Environmental Science or related field; or an Associate's Degree plus 2 years relevant experience.

Experience: Minimum 2 years in environmental, manufacturing, industrial, or customer service sectors.

Knowledge and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, decision-making, writing, organizational, and multitasking skills; patience under pressure; computer proficiency; understanding of DOT and RCRA regulations; regular attendance required. A post-offer drug screen is mandatory. EEO including/veteran status is supported.
