The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks a Law Enforcement Lieutenant to lead investigations in the Environmental Crimes Unit. This role is based in Temple Terrace or Orlando, FL, and involves planning, directing, and coordinating investigators across field offices to enforce environmental laws and protect public health.

You will supervise enforcement activities, testify in court, and manage multi-office investigations.

Qualificações

• Current law enforcement officer certification for the State of Florida, the federal government, or another state.
• Four years sworn law enforcement experience; degrees may substitute for up to one year.
• This position requires PAT, oral board, medical and psychological evaluations, and background investigation.
• Valid driver license and willingness to travel.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, direct, and coordinate investigators across field offices.
• Investigate environmental violations, seize evidence, testify in court.
• Enforce federal, state, and local laws with emphasis on environmental resource protection.
• Supervise environmental investigations and coordinate policies, personnel matters.
• Assign investigations into environmental crimes and citizen complaints.
• This position is emergency mission essential and may require after-hours travel.
