Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation is seeking a Lieutenant to supervise enforcement activities in the Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco enforcement program. You will oversee investigations, licensing compliance, and regulatory enforcement across Florida, ensuring adherence to statutes and safeguarding public welfare.

Candidates must meet state law enforcement certification, have 4+ years of experience, and reside within 70 air miles of Gainesville.

Formación

• Must be a current employee of the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
• A minimum of four (4) years of full-time law enforcement experience is required.
• Must possess and maintain law enforcement certification standards pursuant to Section 943.13, F.S.
• Must reside within 70 air miles of the Gainesville District Office at the time of employment by the time of hire.
• Must be available to travel often and in emergency situations with little to no advance notice.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver’s License by the time of appointment, if selected.
• Must have successfully completed or be able to complete within one year of appointment, one or more courses addressing leadership and/or law enforcement administration at a level of responsibility similar or beyond the requirements of a Lieutenant.

Responsabilidades

• The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco licenses the manufacture, distribution, sale, and service of alcoholic beverage and tobacco products in Florida, including receipt and processing of license applications; collection and auditing of taxes and fees paid by licensees; and enforcement of the laws and regulation of the alcoholic beverage and tobacco industries, pursuant to Chapters 210, 561-565, 567-569, Florida Statutes.
• The Division’s three bureaus – Licensing, Auditing and Law Enforcement – comprise a team of approximately 325 personnel fulfilling the regulatory obligations of the Division throughout the state.
• This is an opportunity to serve as a state law enforcement officer supervisor in Florida.
• Employees demonstrating advanced investigative and critical thinking skills normally excel within this Bureau.
• Employees are challenged with shifting seamlessly from regulatory investigators to law enforcement officers during their investigative activities.
• The Bureau seeks applicants interested in investigating complex crimes while deterring underage access to alcoholic beverages, tobacco and nicotine products.
• These positions require team members to work some nights and weekends as necessary.
