Qualifications

• Four years of recent full-time criminal investigative experience.
• Active Oregon Advanced Police certification (or higher) or equivalent.
• Able to obtain Advanced Police certification within a year of hire.
• Maintain an Oregon driver license.
• Pass a DPSST psychological and physical exam; background checks required.
• Willingness to travel frequently for investigations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, direct and conduct complete investigations within the Department of Justice.
• Prepare and review search warrants and affidavits; cover relevant items in warrants.
• Plan and organize crime scene processing and evidence collection.
• Participate in covert operations with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Preserve chain of custody and handle evidence properly for court use.
• Conduct thorough interviews of victims, witnesses, and suspects.
• Lead search teams; execute searches of persons, vehicles, or locations.
• Obtain warrants and subpoenas; make arrests; support prosecutions.
