Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant environmental remediation or compliance experience for Coordinator 2/3; or equivalent regulatory experience.
  • Experience managing third‑party consultants or vendors.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and cash forecasts.
  • Proficient in environmental remediation, compliance or risk management.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of water, soil, sediment, air/vapor data interpretation.
  • Working knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES and SPCC regulations.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER or ability to obtain.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Preferred: MS degree; groundwater/soil remediation experience; MGP remediation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage closure of environmental liabilities including MGPs, retired stations, gas storage facilities, and compressor stations.
  • Assist with environmental due diligence reviews and coordinate with third‑party consultants.
  • Oversee budgets, Environmental Reserves, Asset Retirement Obligation estimates and forecasts.
  • Represent the company with regulatory agencies and conduct compliance inspections.
  • Develop investigations and remedial actions; review technical reports.
  • Manage field activities, contractors, and environmental audits; promote safety.
  • Communicate project status to partners and leaders; pursue continuous improvement.

Job description

  • Manage closure of environmental liabilities, including former Manufactured Gas Plants, retired electric generating stations, gas storage facilities, and compressor stations
  • Assist with environmental Due Diligence reviews
  • Coordinate with third-party consultants to review data and formulate remedial and waste management recommendations
  • Manage capital project budgets, Environmental Reserves, Asset Retirement Obligation estimates, and spend forecasts
  • Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies
  • Develop and oversee investigation studies and remedial actions
  • Complete compliance inspections and assist with environmental audits and corrective actions
  • Coordinate or perform environmental activities to implement programs and permits and attain full environmental compliance
  • Collect and review project information; develop work plans and work scopes
  • Review technical reports prepared by others
  • Manage consultants and contractors
  • Maintain knowledge of environmental regulations and regulatory processes
  • Analyze and interpret environmental rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines
  • Manage spill response activities as needed
  • Identify and communicate environmental continuous-improvement opportunities
  • Communicate environmental liability and project status to business partners and leaders
  • Promote workplace and public safety and comply with company policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field
  • Direct relevant environmental remediation or compliance experience: minimum 3 years for Coordinator 2 or 5 years for Coordinator 3; alternatively, relatable environmental regulatory experience
  • Experience managing third-party consultants or vendors
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and cash forecasts
  • Proficient technical skills and/or experience in environmental remediation, compliance, or risk management
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to compose complex technical information and interpret technical data regarding water, soil, sediment, and air/vapor media
  • Working knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, NPDES, and SPCC regulations
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training Certificate or ability to obtain
  • Competence with electronic spreadsheets and word processing software
  • Ability and willingness to travel
  • Preferred: M.S. degree in an environmental-related field
  • Preferred: Knowledge of groundwater and/or soil remediation techniques
  • Preferred: Manufactured Gas Plant remediation experience
  • Preferred: Experience managing field-based construction/demolition activity
  • Preferred: Project management skills
  • Preferred: Experience with environmentally related engineering and institutional controls
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of natural gas and/or electric generation/distribution operations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future
