Job summary

McGard LLC is seeking an Environmental Control Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift in Orchard Park, NY. The role involves operating and maintaining industrial water treatment equipment and related systems to support our manufacturing processes.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, English communication skills, and HazMat training within 60 days. The position offers a $20.00–$30.00 per hour DOE with a 10% shift differential and opportunities to train on the 1st shift.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum one (1) year experience preferred.
• Science background helpful.
• Must successfully complete a 24-hour HAZMAT technician training within 60 days that includes hazardous waste operation and emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain industrial water treatment equipment.
• Run metal bearing batch treatment loads.
• Operate and maintain: AA unit; Treatment pumps; Metal bearing filter press; Sludge dryer; D.I. unit; Industrial Water Treatment System; Ultra-filtration water treatment system; Various waste treatment related records.
• Demonstrates the ability to properly operate equipment such as plating process filtration, auxiliary filtration, ion exchange equipment, etc., and ensure valve positions are correct.
• Hazardous materials response and respirator safety compliance.
