Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Terracon's Construction Services include, but are not limited to, environmental remediation, fuel service station closure, and renewable energy construction (testing, installation, and maintenance). These services are performed by Terracon-employed equipment operators and support staff. Laborers operate as part of a team supporting Equipment Operators, Foremen, and Superintendents to deliver these services. Responsibilities include site reconnaissance and utility clearance verification. Work involves using various heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, scrapers, compactors, earth-hauling equipment, and more, primarily in the field at client sites.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Perform tasks including loading tooling and materials, acting as a spotter for operators, conducting basic surveying and site reconnaissance, driving medium-duty trucks and trailers, and inspecting and maintaining equipment.
2. Assist senior Laborers and Equipment Operators in executing project scope.
3. Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects, participate in pre-task planning, and report safety issues or concerns to management.
4. Maintain quality standards across all projects.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of soil composition testing and trench safety.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certifications:

• For remediation construction projects, a 40-Hour HAZWOPER certificate, TWIC, and DOT medical card are preferred.
