Job summary

MSC Industrial Supply Co. in Jonestown, PA seeks an Facilities Environmental Coordinator to manage onsite compliance activities, focusing on waste management, SPCC, and EPCRA. The role supports product stewardship, hazmat storage, and transportation.

You will train teammates and help develop sustainable initiatives within the EC&S team. The position requires a four-year technical degree (engineering/environmental/chemistry) or equivalent experience, RCRA knowledge, and ability to coordinate with

Qualifications

Four-year technical degree preferred in Engineering, Environmental Science or Chemistry or equivalent work experience.
RCRA training or training within 90 days of start date.
Knowledge of federal/state environmental laws and hazardous waste management.

Responsibilities

Develops understanding of federal, state environmental regulations including SPCC and EPCRA.
Coordinate with third party consultants and MSC locations for SPCC plans and training; ensure inspections and records.
Review hazardous items for DOT transportation and storage compliance; ensure proper hazmat handling and labeling.
Maintain Central and Satellite Accumulation Areas and ensure regulatory compliance.
Assist in audits of hazardous waste management practices and prepare waste manifests.
Train associates in hazardous waste management and decontamination procedures.
