Job summary
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources seeks an Environmental Compliance Specialist in Manchester, Iowa, to advance the DNR mission by providing compliance assistance and enforcement throughout northeast Iowa. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a natural science or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to read and interpret environmental regulations and guidance
- Strong written and verbal communication with public officials, facilities, and partners
- Willingness to travel frequently and possess a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of regulated facilities (e.g., animal feeding operations, water facilities, air and waste sites)
- Prepare detailed investigative reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Assist regulated parties to achieve compliance with environmental regulations
- Respond to emergency response incidents as part of on-call duties
