Job summary

KBR, Inc seeks an Environmental Control Specialist (Contingency) to support TACOM (RRAD) environmental programs on a military installation. You will help manage compliance with federal, state, local, and DoD environmental regs, plus hazardous materials and waste handling, to promote mission readiness and worker safety.

You will conduct inspections, collect data, prepare reports, and coordinate with regulators and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Biology, Chemistry, Occupational Health, or related field.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations for hazardous materials, waste, air and water quality.
  • Experience performing inspections, environmental monitoring, compliance assessments, or data collection in industrial/government settings.
  • Ability to analyze environmental data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Experience documenting reports and regulatory records.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and environmental data systems.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain U.S. Government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental inspections of facilities, maintenance shops, storage areas, and industrial operations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor programs related to hazardous materials, hazardous waste, air quality, water quality, spill prevention, and pollution prevention.
  • Collect, document, and maintain environmental data, permits, records, and reports required for regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with environmental investigations, sampling activities, and corrective actions related to environmental incidents or compliance concerns.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors on environmental requirements, hazardous material handling, waste management and pollution prevention practices.
  • Coordinate with environmental personnel, engineers, maintenance organizations, and regulatory agencies to support compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct environmental training and awareness activities to promote safe and environmentally responsible work practices.
  • Support environmental audits, inspections, and program reviews, implementing corrective actions and process improvements as necessary.
