Job summary

Heidelberg Materials US Cement LLC in Union Bridge, Maryland, is seeking an Environmental Professional to support environmental compliance and permitting at the cement plant and quarry. You will partner with operations to promote responsible and sustainable manufacturing practices while ensuring regulatory adherence.

The role involves managing permits, records, reporting, field inspections, and collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and safety teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Experience in an environmental compliance role within manufacturing, industrial, mining, aggregates, cement, or similar heavy industry environment.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and regulatory reporting processes.
• Experience supporting air permitting, emissions compliance, or other environmental permitting programs preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental compliance programs, permits, records, and regulatory reporting activities.
• Monitor environmental performance and support compliance with air, water, waste, and spill prevention requirements.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, sampling activities, and compliance assessments across plant and quarry operations.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams to identify and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support regulatory inspections, agency communications, permitting efforts, and environmental aspects of capital projects and operational changes.
