Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking an Environmental Professional in Catlettsburg, KY to support regulatory programs for air, water and waste. You will work with Operations and Maintenance to ensure compliant practices and provide guidance across teams.

The role includes audits, permit management, training, and interaction with regulatory agencies, reporting to the Environmental Manager within the HES&S team. A relevant degree or diploma with experience is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in a HES related field with no relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with no relevant experience required.
• Conceptual knowledge of environmental compliance and regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and implements environmental policies and guidelines, advising managers on goals and requirements.
• Designs or reviews environmental equipment or systems; determines specifications and recommends equipment.
• Identifies and investigates environmental issues; initiates steps to prevent recurrences and communicates with senior management.
• Maintains knowledge of environmental laws and regulations; assists with regulatory impact assessments and permit submissions.
• Develops training materials and conducts appropriate training sessions.
• Represents the Company with trade associations and regulatory agencies; serves as a technical resource in Government Affairs.
