Job summary

Calgon Carbon, a Kuraray Company, seeks an Environmental Engineer II for its Big Sandy Plant in Catlettsburg, KY. You will lead day-to-day environmental compliance, manage air permits, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste programs, and support regulatory reporting while contributing to EH&S initiatives.

The role emphasizes training, procedure development, and cross-functional EH&S support, reporting to the EHS Manager with dotted-line Plant oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent.
• 2-3 years environmental program management experience required.
• Air permitting experience preferred.
• Environmental training experience preferred.
• Experience with regulatory inspections/agency interface (EPA, state, local) preferred.
• Landfill operations knowledge preferred.
• RCRA – TSDF experience preferred.
• Title V, NPDES, and hazardous waste reporting experience preferred.
• TSCA, TRI, and Tier II reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain regulatory environmental compliance for assigned facilities.
• Manage day-to-day environmental operations: air permits, wastewater, stormwater, and RCRA Part B.
• Conduct plant inspections and training to promote compliance.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports (SARA/EPCRA, annual air permit certifications, hazardous waste reports).
• Develop and implement environmental procedures to meet evolving requirements.
• Provide EH&S cross-functional support to sites.
