The main function of the Compliance Specialist is to ensure regulatory compliance for Reality Labs (RL) Environmental Program with special focus on wastewater and air.
Job Responsibilities
Review regulatory wastewater discharge requirements for both federal and local environmental regulations.
• Conduct assessments of chemicals, processes, tools and equipment for environmental impacts and regulatory applicability.
• Support environmental permitting and regulatory programmatic implementation for new processes and buildings from construction through operations.
• Prepare wastewater permit applications, regulatory reports and supporting documentation, as directed by Reality Labs (RL) Environmental Manager.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections in program areas to include air, wastewater, stormwater, waste and hazardous materials. This would include daily walkthroughs and monthly/quarterly inspections of offices, labs, and technical spaces for compliance assurance.
• Draft environmental management plans e.g. Solvent Management Plan (SMP), operating procedures, and training materials.
• Perform technical review on behalf of the owner of contractor submittals and work plans for environment aspects during construction.
• Participate in project meetings as needed.
• Prepare and submit required environmental metrics and reports to Reality Labs (RL) EHS.
• Audit environmental programs to ensure environmental compliance in accordance with Facebook standards and federal, state, and local requirements.
Must have skills
8-10 years as an environmental engineer with 2-5 years of environmental compliance experience with implementing and managing environmental programs
2 Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations on industrial wastewater effluents discharge permitting and compliance. Additional knowledge of general environmental regulations including but not limited to air emissions management, stormwater, hazardous chemicals and materials management is preferred
3 Must have experience with Washington waste water regulations specifically
Nice-to-have Skills
1 Familiarity with Microsoft office suite (especially MS excel and word), Adobe, SharePoint and Google drive
2 Familiarity with Enablon (Environmental management System)
