Job summary
Georgia State University seeks an Environmental Programs Officer within URSA and the Office of Research & Environmental Safety (ORES) on the Atlanta Campus. The role administers university environmental compliance programs, supports regulatory reviews, and liaises with federal, state, and local agencies to ensure safety and compliance across laboratories and facilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical or Environmental Sciences with four years of related experience.
- Proof of completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER and 8-hour DOT Hazmat trainings.
Responsibilities
- Administers university environmental compliance programs and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Reviews projects for environmental compliance and coordinates reviews with Facilities teams.
- Responds to hazardous materials incidents and coordinates regulatory notifications.
- Represents university with agencies and provides compliance guidance.
- Oversees environmental sampling, analyses findings, and recommends actions.
- Manages contracts and office operations related to environmental programs.
