Job summary

AEP in the United States is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to oversee implementation of environmental compliance programs, permit requirements, and corporate policies within assigned regions and plants. You will work with business units, Environmental Services, contractors, and regulators to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

The role requires at least a bachelor's in physical sciences, minimum two years of environmental experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the physical sciences (biology, chemistry, geology, physical science, etc.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of environmental experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with employees and external audiences
  • Travel time ranges from 20% - 40% and will include overnight stays on occasion

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain all environmental activities in the T&D regions to ensure compliance with environmental laws, regulations and Company policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, instruction and assistance to employees on environmental program requirements.
  • Assist in oil or chemical spill responses including agency notifications and contractor coordination.
  • Conduct environmental reviews of regional disposal contractors and facilities.
  • Promote safe work practices to safeguard employees, contractors, and the public.
