Job summary

WestRock Company in Atlanta, GA, seeks an Environmental Services Manager for the Converting/Midwest Region. This leadership role supports our corporate environmental group, delivering environmental compliance advice and technical guidance to facilities across the Midwest.

Lead EMS development, permits, and regulatory interactions while advising executives. Expect up to 50% travel and potential remote work within the Midwest region, reporting to the Director of Environmental Services.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in engineering, chemistry, environmental science or other related science discipline
• 5 or more years of previous environmental experience in the pulp and paper industry or equivalent experience
• Working knowledge of environmental laws and regulations

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems aligned with the Environmental Excellence program.
• Provide environmental compliance assistance to facilities and advise executives on interactions with agencies.
• Furnish technical assistance on air emissions, wastewater treatment, and landfill/solid waste management.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining environmental permits.
• Support capital and strategic projects by identifying environmental requirements and devising compliant strategies.
• Assist facilities in resolving enforcement actions with legal counsel as needed.
• Participate in environmental audits and provide training to facilities.
