Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Environmental Services Manager to lead environmental compliance and technical support for our corrugated and consumer packaging divisions across the Midwest. The role is based at our Atlanta headquarters with potential remote work from a Midwest location and travel to facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in engineering, chemistry, environmental science or other related science discipline.
• 5 or more years of environmental experience in pulp and paper or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Management Systems: Develop and implement EMS aligned with Environmental Excellence program.
• Compliance Advice: Provide environmental compliance assistance to facilities and interact with agencies.
• Technical Assistance: Advise on air emissions, wastewater treatment, and solid waste management.
• Permitting: Assist in obtaining and maintaining environmental permits.
• Special Projects Support: Identify environmental requirements for capital projects and due diligence.
• Enforcement Support: Assist facilities in responding to enforcement actions with counsel.
• Training and Auditing: Conduct audits and training; address audit findings.
