Job summary

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Environmental Manager for our Plymouth, NC operation. You will lead all environmental work, ensure compliance with federal/state permits, and drive best practices to improve unit performance. The role partners with operations leadership and reports to the Regional Environmental Manager.

You will manage audits, training, and regulatory relationships, while supporting capital projects and ensuring timely environmental records and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a scientific or engineering field or equivalent with 3–5 years of experience; or an associate degree with 3+ years of environmental experience.
• Strong understanding of environmental requirements and permits across air, water, and waste.
• Ability to develop regulatory expertise in spill prevention and stormwater management.
• Understanding of compliance management systems and audit/inspection processes.
• Project management skills to implement environmental processes.
• Experience training on environmental policies and regulatory requirements.
• Able to lead teams with a proactive, urgent mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance programs for the Plymouth, NC operation.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to model safe, sustainable practices.
• Maintain all environmental plans and records and ensure permit compliance.
• Report to Regional Environmental Manager and coordinate with regulators.
• Support audits and environmental training for staff.
• Oversee consultants for cost-effective, quality services.
• Assist with capital projects and regulatory reporting.
