Job summary

FPC National is seeking an Environmental Engineer to partner with the Site EHS Manager and plant leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while supporting sustainability and operational excellence.

This role provides expertise in regulatory reporting, risk assessments, and continuous improvement across site operations, with emphasis on waste management, permits, and incident investigations, advancing environmental stewardship and safe chemical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of environmental compliance experience in chemical/industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, TRI, SPCC, wastewater and stormwater programs.
• Experience preparing regulatory reports and managing compliance programs.
• Knowledge of industrial chemical processes and related environmental risks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause investigation skills.
• Ability to influence operations and drive compliance through collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Leadership and project management capabilities; continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Lead and support permitting, reporting, and compliance program management.
• Spearhead regulatory reporting: TRI, Tier II, emissions inventories, wastewater monitoring, and hazardous waste reports.
• Maintain knowledge of evolving environmental regulations and assess site impacts.
• Participate in MOC processes for new equipment and process changes.
• Conduct environmental risk assessments and audits; implement corrective actions.
• Monitor environmental performance metrics and drive sustainability improvements.
• Partner with operations to reduce waste and advance sustainability objectives.
• Lead investigations of environmental incidents and deviations; identify root causes.
• Maintain ISO 14001 EMS and support training and awareness.
