Job summary

W&T Offshore, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance at the Onshore Treatment Facility in Theodore, Alabama. The role reports to the Environmental Manager and coordinates with engineering, construction, regulatory, drilling and production teams.

This full-time position follows a 9/80 schedule (Mon-Thu 9 hours, Fri 4 hours) with salaried exempt status. The candidate will lead audits, training, and regulatory planning for OTF and Mobile Bay operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related field preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience with environmental regulations relating to the oil and gas industry, including EPA and ADEM.
• Knowledge of federal environmental regulations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact positively with others.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and produce results.

Responsibilities

• Serve as local environmental expert and point of contact for environmental permits and plans.
• Be the focal point for agency correspondence for environmental permits and plans.
• Manage compliance for Clean Air and Clean Water acts, RCRA, CERCLA and EPCRA for OTF and Mobile Bay.
• Ensure all required environmental reports are completed and submitted to regulatory agencies.
