Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a proactive environmental professional to support the Environmental Protection Department. You will identify regulatory requirements, develop policies, collect and analyze data, and coordinate with site personnel to ensure compliance across stormwater, wastewater, air quality, SPCC, and related programs.

Occasional fieldwork, inspection tasks, and training support are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science/engineering field with 3 years of environmental experience required.
• Master's degree is desirable.
• Experience interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements preferred; exposure to stormwater, wastewater, air quality, SPCC, and related areas.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, perform moderately complex technical work to achieve compliance with SLAC's environmental standards and regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain programs, systems, and procedures for environmental protection.
• Develop and conduct employee training, education, and awareness programs.
• Identify, assess, and monitor environmental hazards; recommend improvements to minimize impacts and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents and complaints; prepare accompanying reports and documentation.
• May act as lead or technical expert and provide direction to junior staff.
• Complete accurate reports and manage assigned program deliverables.
• Other duties may be assigned.
