Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks an EM2 Case Manager in the Office of Land Quality to manage enforcement cases ensuring compliance with environmental laws, rules, and permits. You will evaluate referrals, draft enforcement documents, negotiate with regulated entities, and resolve actions with strong written and verbal communication.

A degree is not required; five years of related environmental experience may be considered.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of environmental protection principles and practices.
• Excellent research and writing skills for preparing accurate, precise, clear, and thorough reports.
• Ability to effectively interact and orally communicate with diverse parties in meetings and hearings.
• Ability to interpret and apply legal terminology and practices in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as environmental expert guiding regulated communities and officials.
• Perform project management duties to ensure timely program needs and deliverables.
• Research state/federal guidance on permits; request information, defend terms, and attend public meetings.
• Conduct inspections, review facilities, cite violations, and provide regulatory guidance.
