Environmental Claims Adjuster

Location: Remote (U.S.-based)

Contract Duration: 2+ Months (with potential for extension or permanent conversion)

Pay Rate: $64 – $107 per hour (W2)

About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leading organization in the insurance industry, is seeking an experienced Environmental Claims Adjuster to join their team on a contract basis. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to manage complex commercial environmental claims, handle high-exposure files, and contribute strategic insight to claims resolution processes. Ideal for a self-directed professional with deep expertise in environmental liability claims, this position offers a competitive hourly rate and the potential for long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle commercial environmental claims with the highest level of technical complexity and financial exposure.
• Conduct thorough investigations, including interviews and information gathering from all involved parties.
• Evaluate coverage by analyzing policy forms, endorsements, and claim details.
• Manage claims through litigation, including coordination with legal counsel and expert resources.
• Set appropriate reserves and monitor for changes throughout the life of the claim.
• Maintain an organized diary and ensure timely progression and resolution of cases.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership and underwriters on claims developments and trends.
• Negotiate settlements in a timely, fair, and strategic manner.
• Provide exceptional communication with all stakeholders, including insureds and claimants.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience adjudicating complex commercial environmental claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree required; J.D. or additional insurance certifications (e.g., CPCU, AIC) strongly preferred.
• Licensed Claims Examiner (as required by state regulations).
• Proven success managing claims in litigation and navigating environmental liability exposures.
• Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management systems.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and available for a full-time remote contract role.
