Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Laboratory Analyst II (Chemistry) to prepare and analyze samples across water, air, soil and solids in a fast-paced setting. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential overtime.

Required: Bachelor's in a chemical or physical science and at least three years in a commercial production lab; experience with GC, GC-MS, HPLC and XRD; ability to work independently and with a team; US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a chemical or physical science field of study.
• Three years' prior experience in a commercial production laboratory.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship.
• Experience with GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and/or XRD instruments.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze samples to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in water, air, soil, and/or solids.
• Familiarity with EPA, NIOSH, OSHA, and/or other potential methodologies.
• Follow SOPs, QC procedures, and data validation for each analytical method.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment and instruments.
• Perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, volumetric measurements and the use of analytical balances.
• Compute calculations and compile data.
