Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an Environmental Chemist/Hydrologist to deliver operational, research and development, and training support to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) as part of the 24/7/365 Technical Reachback program.

The candidate will apply subject matter expertise to develop, test, verify, validate, and apply CBRNE software/scenarios using theoretical and computational methods.

Qualifications

• MS in Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Hydrology or related field (or close to completion).
• Willingness to work rotating shifts for 24/7/365 operations.
• US Citizenship required; ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Strong communication, presentation, teamwork, and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex engineering and scientific modeling and analyses.
• Provide scientific reports and technical assessments to military decision makers.
• Cross-train to provide modeling and information across the CBRNE spectrum.
• Contribute to the Reachback team with expert advice and decision support.
