Job summary

Environment America is seeking Campaign Associates to lead campaigns protecting oceans and public lands, promoting clean energy, and advocating for clean air and water in Chicago and nationwide.

Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; we provide advocacy training and guidance from experienced staff. Responsibilities include building coalitions, organizing events, recruiting volunteers, and engaging with officials to drive our campaigns forward.

Qualifications

• Passion for protecting the environment and building grassroots support.
• Top-notch writing and public speaking skills.
• An eagerness to learn and grow in advocacy work.
• Experience organizing campus or community groups is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build powerful coalitions with diverse organizations and constituencies.
• Organize support, events, and volunteer engagement for campaigns.
• Earn traditional and social media attention to advance goals.
• Lobby elected officials from local to federal levels.
• Recruit new volunteers, interns and staff to strengthen teams.
• Run a grassroots campaign office in summer and meet fundraising goals.
