Environment America is hiring a smart, well-organized and creative campaigner to build broad public support for climate action. The Climate Campaigns Associate will focus on winning the hearts and minds of the American public through coalition work, events, media, and outreach in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will have a love of the environment, leadership experience, strong writing and public speaking skills, eagerness to learn, and readiness for a challenge.

Responsibilities

• Work with coalitions: reach out to organizations and constituency groups to build support for campaigns.
• Organize events and work with volunteers: plan community events and recruit attendees and participants.
• Earn media attention: organize news conferences and write opinion pieces; build a campaign presence on social media.
• Meet with elected officials: engage decision makers from local to national levels to advocate climate action.
• Recruit new people to your team: attract volunteers, interns and staff.
• Run a grassroots campaign office each summer: manage fundraising goals and a team; flexibility to relocate for the summer.
