Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Analyst I for our Durham, NC lab to support multiple projects with regulatory agencies and clients.

You will perform quantitative GC analysis, assist with data summaries for reports, and prepare samples and standards with meticulous documentation. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and 1–2 years of GC experience, plus experience with ChemStation and FTIR analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years GC experience preferred.
• Experience with ChemStation software.
• Experience in FTIR analysis.
• QA/QC requirements must be routinely met.

Responsibilities

• Quantitative sample analysis by Gas Chromatography using detectors.
• Preparation of data summaries for client reports.
• Sample and standard preparation.
• Instrument calibration and validation.
• Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis, equipment maintenance and data collected off site.
• Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses.
• Method development aimed at analytical optimization and validating sampling approaches for clients.
• Communicating relevant updates to applicable people in a timely manner.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the Company.
• Compliance with QA/QC and Health & Safety plans.
• Occasional split shift and/or weekend duties.
• Other duties as assigned

You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.
