Job summary

Onterris, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician I - Sample Custodian for our Wilmington, NC lab. You will receive environmental samples, document shipments, and input data into the LIMS, ensuring proper labeling and storage according to SOPs.

Responsibilities include preparing kit shipments, assisting in sample management and field sampling as needed, and supporting daily scheduling. A high school diploma is required; some lab experience is preferred, and a valid driver's license plus the

Responsibilities

• Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs.
• Receives and documents all shipments (lab and office supplies, equipment, etc.).
• Performs data entry of sample and test information into LIMS.
• Label the sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and inform departments of short holding times or rush requests.
• Prepares and ships bottle kits (label bottles, add preservatives).
• Prepares and ships air sampling media.
• Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal.
• Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed.
• Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed.
• Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency.
• Be flexible in work schedule including Saturdays and overtime when needed.

They are usually the first point of contact between the clients’ samples and the laboratory and, as such, are responsible for immediately notifying the Project Management Team of receipt, volume, preservation, labeling, or other discrepancies that could affect the laboratory’s ability to efficiently and profitably generate complete and accurate sample results on time while meeting the expectations of our clients and requirements of our accreditation programs.The compensation range for this role is **$19.00 to $22.00**, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. **Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional overtime****Your Expertise and Skills**These requirements reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities that help you do your best work here.* Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy’s SOPs* Receives and documents all shipments (lab and office supplies, equipment, etc.)* Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)* Label the sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
