Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in New York City seeks an experienced Environmental & Natural Resources Attorney to collaborate with seasoned professionals on matters across the Northeast.

The role focuses on permitting, compliance, enforcement, and working with federal and state agencies; requires NY Bar admission and a JD; 4–8 years of relevant experience; energy and wildlife experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in New York State (or eligible to waive into NY Bar).
• 4–8 years of relevant environmental law experience.
• Expertise in NEPA/SEQRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA, ESA, MBTA, NY Environmental Conservation Law.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Manage project permitting and siting, including NEPA and SEQRA processes.
• Conduct transactional due diligence and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Handle enforcement matters related to environmental statutes.
• Interface with resource agencies such as USEPA, USACE, USFWS, and NYSDEC.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice in New York State or eligible to waive into the New York State Bar.
• Four to eight years of relevant experience in environmental law.
• Expertise in Superfund/CERCLA, CWA, CAA, ESA, MBTA, and New York State Environmental Conservation Law.
• Experience in the energy industry and with wildlife and rare, threatened, and endangered species is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
