Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking Per Diem Environmental Aides (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours vary including weekends; starting rate is $21.21/hr, with shifts including a program for teen hires.

Functions include general cleaning, trash removal, dusting, floor care, bath and room sanitation, linen exchange, and safe handling of patient areas. EVS Aide will also work at Union Campus as needed.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• HS Diploma or GED required or obtain within 1 year.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass fit testing.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning in patient rooms and common areas.
• Empty trash, dust, mop floors, sanitize furniture.
• Handle soiled linen and linen replacement.
• Work at Union Campus as needed.
• Clean bodily fluids as part of EVS duties.

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking Per Diem Environmental Aides (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours vary including weekends (as needed). Starting rate $21.21/hr. This position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teenhiring initiative (specific shifts)

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

• General cleaning, empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize all furniture inpatient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris, remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms.
• EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers).
• If 16 or 17 years-old, valid working papers required.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.
• Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
